I was done having New Year's resolutions until the new year crept up on me again and I fell into the trap I swore I would avoid. So what is it now?....
I find that life could be as difficult or as easy as one makes it for themselves. Speaking from both sides of my mouth, I also firmly believe that there are things in which we can do nothing about and must accept, good or bad. I guess what we have control over is how we react to the uncontrollable things. To control them by not letting them control us.
I started to read Kabbalistic wisdom last year and although I am not a Kabbalist or a full practitioner, I did take away something I often have to remind myself. Do not be the reaction, be the action. If you are the action, you have control, if you are the reactor, the action holds control.
As there are many supporters and positive forces in my life, there are also some negative ones that trigger my weakness to react immediately. How tempting it is to sometimes just tell someone off! But, this year, I am trying to practice some sort of spiritual Aikido and try to neutralize negative forces without harming their source. It is very tempting to do the opposite, but if I did that I would be a reaction and not the action. This year's goal ladies, less reaction and more action.
