Last time we discussed how to get volume for hair, now let’s see how to achieve those loose beachy waves: - Begin by prepping your hair with a thermal protecting spray (there are many on the market, I like Redken Heat spray #8). This will hold the curl without leaving your hair feeling stiff.
- Use a 1-inch curling iron starting at the ends and winding it around the curling iron and holding it horizontally.
- Now alternate the curl size by using a ¾- inch curling iron (holding it the same way). If you alternate the direction of the curling iron that is fine it will leave a more versatile finish.
- Once you are done, tousle the curls with light pomade or a styling soufflé such as Redken Wool Shake #8. This will define the curls and provide a light hold.
