Traveling with Kids

kids

If you’ve ever been on a road trip with kids you are more than familiar with the agony of hearing the classic question, “Are we there yet?”  Although sometimes dreaded, road trips can save a lot of money and situational stress (think airport security checks and delayed flights) and can be a lot of fun (with the right mindset and preparation).

Before I set out on my last road trip I was thrilled to find these activities from Melissa and Doug that are made with practicality in mind.  The bingo and hangman games are made with durable wood and feature attractive primary color paints.  There is no concern for losing parts, as the games are equipped with flipping pieces.  The game cards are easily stored within the board for ultimate ease and convenience.

Additionally, Melissa and Doug magnetic puzzles are an innovative way to provide children with entertainment in the car.  The fishing game, bug catching game and car towing game come with magnetically-equipped poles that challenge youngsters to develop hand-eye coordination and practice imaginative play.

If you choose to stock up on novel games such as this for your long car ride, you are more likely to hear squeals of excitement than cries of boredom from the back seat; welcome noise to a parent’s ears.
