Some people in Loudoun County still don’t realize that there is a Cheesecake Factory in the parking lot of Dulles Town Center Mall. We no longer need to go to Tyson’s Corner to experience this great restaurant, and there’s definitely something here for everyone. Although the menu can be overwhelming, it certainly provides many options. The atmosphere is very open with a feeling of warmth emphasized by amber hues used throughout. Take special note of the funky lighting and ceiling murals (my daughter loved it and stared at the “ceiling fairies” for at least 10 minutes!).
The wait staff is very attentive yet not overly aggressive. Our waitress seemed to pop up exactly when we needed more bananas for our 18 month old, or if we needed a drink refill. We highly recommend starting with the Sweet Corn Tamale Cakes. This is definitely an appetizer for 2 – 3 people (like most dishes in this restaurant). The tamales are lightly covered in Southwestern sauce and topped with fresh avocado, tomato and sour cream. The combination of ingredients was outstanding.
For the main course, we selected the Grilled Chicken Tostada Salad and the Grilled Pork Chops. The Tostada salad is enormous, and is a chopped salad - so you experience all the tastes in every bite. We would recommend this dish if you have 2 – 3 people. Otherwise, you’ll be taking home a hefty doggie bag! It’s also a great compliment to the Sweet Corn Tamales. The Pork Chops (2) are presented over red bliss mashed potatoes, served with applesauce and surrounded by steamed spinach. The chops were cooked to perfection, and the entire meal was very good.
Now for what they are known for, cheesecake! Since we are chocoholics, we picked the Godiva® Chocolate Cheesecake. Was it good? If there is a record time for eating an extra large piece of cheesecake, I believe we crushed it!
