Tired of a one-dimensional wardrobe? Here are some tips on how to mix up and glam up those basics in your wardrobe to upgrade your personal style.
The Little Jacket
Chances are you have a pair of jeans and a white tank top already in your closet. Upgrade from basic to chic with the little jacket.
Simple, refined, and easy-look for a jacket that is shorter in length (no longer than the hip) and well tailored. Go for glam, like the little jacket shown here, with a metallic linen fabric or add some color with a bright spring hue.
Sophisticated Color
Color is the easiest way to refresh your look and upgrade your style. Select bold but flattering hues that brighten your complexion and you will transition from plain to interesting. Color can make even a basic tee, as shown, more sophisticated and polished.
Easy Layering
The best way to upgrade simple black and white is with layering. Layering with patterns and luxury fabrics, such as satin, take the look effortlessly from day to evening. This will add dimension to simple basics and create a unique style that is all your own.
Finely Tailored Suit
Don’t compromise femininity and good fit when it comes to suiting. Although black is easy and classic, it can also be severe or harsh on some complexions. Upgrade to alternative colors that are equally versatile but more flattering are gray, chocolate, and navy. The gray suit shown is beautifully fitted through the shoulder and waist. The printed silk top and layered pearl necklace adds interest and dimension.
