Before we tell you about our facial, we want to tell you a little about this spa that you find in the strip mall next to Giant. Natural Body Spa has an important core belief that they apply to every facet of their business, “Natural products for the body and natural housing of that body in the spa.” Here is what we mean…Ashburn spa has achieved Silver certification from the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Building Rating System, which is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. What does that mean? They built the building leaving as little carbon footprint behind as possible. They also purchased Green Energy Credits for wind power equal to 100% of their energy consumption per year.
We went in for a signature Jurlique facial. Jurlique is known for using organic and natural skin care products made from plants that are hand-sown and hand-harvested from the nutrient rich soil of South Africa. Wow!
We arrived at the charming spa and filled out our paperwork. Our aesthetician, Penny came to meet us and offered us a drink. We stepped into the treatment room, got undressed and got under the covers. We talked about our skin and the necessary treatments and products that needed to be used. Steam in our face and we dove into a pampered slumber. The Jurlique products smelled very earthy and flowery as they are filled with natural ingredients and herbs. We smelled lavender, calendula, rosemary and other delightful scents. There were no chemicals, no preservatives and nothing artificial about our facial. We felt great and when our time was up, our skin looked great and our conscious was clear, knowing we did little in this hour, to leave behind our carbon footprint.
Mod Thoughts: We commend Natural Body Spa for not only designing a great treatment for our skin and using great products, but also for doing something about the environment. Natural Body Spa is good for your body and for your environment. In November, they are offering “Pamper and Play” program where moms can bring their children with them to the spa.
