ROMANCE: Single and a mom

I am now single and a mom. I still live in the suburbs. All of my friends, neighbors, co-workers are married. need to get out. Get back into the dating scene. Where do I start? Help.
Firstly, I applaud you for wanting to get back into the dating scene. Some women simply give up, and devote themselves 24/7 to their children. This only seriously sabotages your chance to find romance and lasting happiness.

That said, I totally understand how daunting it might seem to get back into dating. You didn't mention your age, or your children's ages. Regardless, it takes confidence to put yourself back out there, especially if you've lost some of that edge during the separation/divorce. Believe me, I know that all too well!

It's vitally important to feel good about yourself first. That helps ensure that you will attract the right people into your circle. Knowing who you are, and what you want allows you to weed out the undesirables! Make a list of the qualities you are looking for you in a partner; and don't forget to make your own list of qualities! Remind yourself often just how much you have to offer someone! People will notice you when you carry yourself well, wear a smile, give off good energy. It's a natural attractant!

Dating services are full of success stories. Match.com and EHarmony are a couple that have been endorsed by many. Get involved in community activities. I'm guessing there are lots of single Dads out there as well!

Be positive. Timing can be everything, and you will certainly meet the right person when you are ready.
