Sleek, contemporary décor abounds at Hooked in Sterling, Va. It’s a trendy upscale atmosphere one would expect downtown; not here in the suburbs. As my girlfriend and I arrived for a recent dinner we quickly learned that reservations are strongly recommended. The menu is vast, encompassing sushi, raw bar, soups, salads, seafood, pork, chicken and steak. I chose a Signature sushi roll to start - spicy tuna with tempura flakes and avocado. Fresh and delicious! My friend’s crab cake appetizer boasted large delicate chunks of crabmeat without any visible filler served on a bed of greens. She enjoyed this so much she found herself eating every bite just short of the garnish. For my main course I enjoyed the Blacken Bluefish - a surprisingly nice fish seasoned with Cajon spices, blue cheese butter and roasted red pepper sauce. An odd sounding mix, but one that worked. A side of asparagus arrived perfectly grilled with a sprinkling of sea salt, lemon and Parmesan cheese.Hooked Exquisite Seafood & Sushi

The Turkish nationals Chef Kemal Deger and entrepreneur brothers Bolukbasis make unlikely ambassadors for French cuisine in our nation’s capital. Such is the power of our melting pot society in the United States. I have encountered Chinese nationals running Austrian restaurants, Germans successfully serving Turkish dishes in Leesburg and now, veteran Turkish restaurateurs debuting a French country bistro in the heart of Capitol Hill. Vive Les Etats Unis! When we visited this new Bistro, it had only been open for 3 days and it still operated in a “soft opening” mode. The Counter Custom Build Burgers

Chef Geoff ’s Tysons is the antithesis of any national midrange restaurant. There is an actual chef named Geoff behind the establishment. He lives in Metro DC with his beautiful kids and internationally known TV anchor wife, Norah O'Donnell. He invests in this community, and he makes his livelihood from the four area restaurants that he opened. When you eat at his Tysons location, you feel like you are tasting gourmet versions of many of the familiar dishes, if not household favorites. I recently visited his location for a business lunch with three other welltraveled businessmen, including a discerning French citizen.NORA’s Restaurant : A taste of Lebanon
Located in Gainesville, VA off of Route 29, is Nora's Taste of Lebanon, a casual and cute Lebanese cafe. Inside the restaurant you’ll find a quaint and cozy seating arrangement and will be surrounded by pictures of various scenes from Lebanon. The staff is friendly and warm, making you feel right at home. The restaurant serves some of the best and most authentic Lebanese food that I've had in Northern Virginia. The food is of high quality and really tastes like the food I’ve enjoyed in Lebanon. The menu consists of a variety of different Mezzas (appetizers or small dishes), such as Hummus, Baba Ghanoj, spinach pies, etc. The main dishes include mixed grilled meats and delicious sandwiches. Great desserts, like homemade Baklava, round out your meal. Another great treat is the selection of Lebanese wine they serve which pairs nicely with the meal.

The North Dakota Farmers Union had a problem. They were not getting the recognition or price for their high quality products. They wanted to connect consumers and their money with high end food produced by American family farmers without the interference from the middleman. They decided to open a restaurant that showcased their high quality produce, meat and poultry products and that’s how Georget...
