These reviews are a result of diligent research put together by one of our favorite ModMoms, Kim Finnegan.

From the moment we learn we are pregnant, we moms begin to make plans regarding their children. Natural or medicated birth? Bottle or breast? Co-sleep or crib? Family practice or pediatrician? As our children move from babies to toddlers, our decision making continues – when to transition to a bed, when to potty train, when to get rid of the pacifier. For all these milestones, moms often have multiple resources to help in such decisions – entire books have been written on most of these subjects, along with countless articles in magazines and online discussions. Once your child reaches the end of his or her toddler years, however, one big decision may not be so easy to research: when it comes to schools, which do you choose – public or private? Loudoun County offers outstanding public schools, with programs to meet the needs of most children and their families. A quick visit to the county school’s website can provide answers to most questions about the school system. For families who are considering the private school route, however, the answers are not as easy to find in one spot. To help in your decision making process, ModMom has compiled a directory of some of the best private schools Loudoun County has to offer.

All the schools included here are fully or provisionally accredited by state recognized accrediting associations, [including the American Montessori Society (AMS), Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), Southern Association of Colleges and Schools – Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS-CASI), the Virginia Association of Independent Schools (VAIS), and the Virginia Catholic Education Association (VCEA). If you want to keep this info…] and provide an intriguing insight into just what private schools have to offer. Their allure goes beyond academics; the close community, amazing extracurricular offerings, and a special focus on faith or community service all work together to make private schools a viable choice when looking at educational options for your child.
