Winnie the Pooh Preschool is a not-for-profit preschool that welcomes children ages 2 ½ -5. Loudoun Country Day School is for children preschool to 8th grade. LCDS’s preschool has half day and full day junior kindergarten options. Loudoun Country Day School strives to educate students to become well rounded, academically, physically, artistically, socially, and emotionally. They focus on communication: reading, writing, speaking, and listening, reasoning: math, science, and computers, culture: history, music, art, drama, and foreign languages. LCDS’s new 69 acre campus will open in September 2009. Tuition for half day is $9,900 and junior kindergarten is $13,700 for full day. Financial Aid options are available for families in need of assistance.
The Nysmith School is for a student who is curious, has a sense of humor, likes patterns, numbers, words, being creative and original, loves information, aware of other children’s feelings, and loves to learn. The school strives to provide an environment where children can learn to their full potential. They Nysmith School is for gifted children ages 3, to 8th grade who are ready to learn about art, reading, math, science, computers, French, music, and physical education. The preschool program is for ages 3 to 4 where the student teacher ratio is 8:1. Tuition for the preschool program is $19,070 and goes from 8:30am to 2:30pm.
Chesterbrook Academy believes in individual approaches to learning. They believe that some students are auditory, some visual, and some tactile. Children ages 6 weeks to kindergarten age are welcome at Chesterbrook. The preschool program at Chesterbrook is a strong skills-based curriculum that features circle time, nap time, reading, writing, math, social studies, science, health habits, self-concept, and Spanish introduction. They want to educate cognitively, emotionally, socially, and physically. Parent involvement is welcomed in helping with school parties, field trips, and class. Tuition is $227 per week
Centreville Preschool, Inc. (CPI) focuses its student’s learning in four main areas: physical, intellectual, social, and emotional. The curriculum includes working on motor development, working on puzzles, circle time to do daily classroom tasks and games that develop language, math, and concepts, show n tell, snack, music, and outdoor play. Ages 2 ½ - 5 are welcome at CPI. The preschool level is ages 3-4 with morning and afternoon programs. At CPI, there is a need for active parent participation, especially in the three and four year old age group. Tuition ranges from $1220-$2230.
Reston Montessori School welcomes children 3 months to 9 years old for their many different programs. The Primary program features preschool aged children 3-6 learning in from a philosophy based off of Dr. Maria Montessori, Italy’s first female doctor. The philosophy believes the child should explore, be independent, and learn self-control. The curriculum includes practical life, sensorial, math, language, science, geography, art, and music. Tuition for the Primary group is $9400 for 8:30am-12:30pm. Tuition for other programs varies between $10,600 and $15,600. A 2.5% discount is available on tuition payments submitted in full by September 1.
