Good Wine, friends, delicious menu, & live music are just some of the things you will experience at this friendly unassuming neighborhood wine bar. Parallel’s concept of "wine first" and "food to complement" is still at their core one year after first opening its doors.

Parallel features an ever changing list of over 50 wines by the glass, specializing in wines from around the world. Not a wine lover? Not a problem, Parallel also has a great selection of over 50 specialty/craft bottle beers as well. The food menu is constantly being refreshed and you will always find an assortment of small plates as well as entrees all perfect to share with others and pair up with different kinds of wine.

One of my favorite things to do at Parallel is to sample their wine selection either by ordering one of their many ‘flights’ or perusing and tasting from the 32 selections of wines on their self-serve wine stations. Where else can you taste a $100 bottle of wine before actually purchasing it? And when the weather cooperates, the outdoor patio is super cozy and you will find one of the various live acoustic musicians playing there instead.

Owner Jason Bursey is always there (I’m sure his wife agrees with me on this one) – mingling with his patrons, making sure everything is running smoothly, and most importantly ensuring that everyone is having a great time! His previous experience with the Ashburn Wine Shop certainly gave him the wine know-how but this is his first restaurant venture. He has brought in an amazing chef from Washington DC and it has been truly impressive to witness Parallel’s success over this last year. Make sure to say hi and introduce yourself to Jason next time you visit. Chances are that if you give this place a try, you will most definitely come back. Try them on a busy weekend night, or take advantage of some of their specials mid-week. They also offer Sunday brunch with unlimited mimosas & bloody mary bar. An un-paralleled experience is most definitely what you’ll enjoy at Parallel.

Parallel is my go to place for any visitors, vendors or family. There is always something wonderful to try for anyone that I have taken there. Brandon in the kitchen is like a fine musician with food. He can make any cut of meat, veggie, fruit or starch sing on the plate.

The service is incredible and friendly. Some of the folks have been with Jason for a long time. Jason makes the rounds every night that he is there and you will swear you are the only customer in the house!

Eat, drink and make great friends!

February 2012 Thank you for producing such a fun, current magazine full of great information. Wishing you continued (and BIG) success. Pamela Steuart.Fine Art
October 2011 Just picked up a copy at my daughter's Little Gym class and found myself reading it instead of my Kindle! Enjoyed many of the essays, particularly the first year teacher at an inner-city school...and so many other articles. Kristine Meldrum Denholm, freelance journalist
