Intro:
Brambleton is a fine suburb, with plenty of good places to eat, but one location in particular immediately stood out for me. Like many restaurants in the area, My Thai Palace is located in a mini mall, but its predictability ended there.

Design:
Grey cement floors, tall white walls and modern artwork are some of the design elements I liked best. I didn’t feel like I was in a stuffy suburb, but rather a posh, urban and sophisticated spot I could take my city slicker friends when they visit without feeling embarrassed.

Food:
I ordered the Yum Chicken and Mushroom soup, which to my delight was accented with plenty of lemongrass seasoning. The soup had just the right amount of chili, which added a bit of heat to the refreshing clear broth. The large chunks of white chicken meat and savory Asian mushrooms were both delicious and plentiful.

For the entrée, I ordered the Drunken Noodles with Seafood. If ever you want to get to the heart of a Thai restaurant, try this staple dish, and you’ll get a wonderful idea of the quality of the place. Upon my first bite, I knew I had a favorite Thai place in Brambleton. Delicious sautéed wide rice noodles with basil leaves, fresh chili peppers, generous servings of scallops, shrimp and fresh octopus. I loved this dish. All the seafood was extremely fresh, the noodles were firm, but not dry, and the seasoning was in perfect quantity. I ordered another staple dish: The Chicken Pad Thai. Perfect noodles, just the right amount of texture and taste, and not too eggy, which can be a turn off for some. The chicken was juicy, and flavorful, and had a wonderful coating of Thai seasoning which gave it just a bit of heat.

Service:
Friendly, but not overdone. The Greeter was sweet and bubbly; the wait staff didn’t seem like they were stuck in the weeds, which is a good testament of the management. Smiles everywhere. A good sign.

Overall:
If you are in the mood for Thai food, and we all are at some point, try My Thai Palace in Brambleton and be impressed.
