The ModBlogger
I know you have all been on the edge of your seat waiting to read my next blog –sorry to disappoint but I was out of town visiting a close friend in London, England. While I was there visiting our friends across the pond, I could not stop thinking about all the similarities Loudoun county has with London.
Let’s start with the obvious –does the word London remind you of any other…Loudoun perhaps?
Then we cannot forget the tradition of afternoon tea. While we had an incredible tea at the Dorchester Hotel in London, there are also several places for tea right here in Loudoun. Some of which I have attended and highly recommend-the Oatlands and the Laurel Brigade Inn.
My London friend had hired a stylist to dress her from head to toe. She helped discover her colors, her measurements, whether she should wear gold or silver jewelry-everything. But you also do not have to live in one of the most fashionable cities in the world to dress posh. We have those resources at our fingertips-our own Modern Mom Magazine’s fashion contributor, Kate Bengaard-who I intend to call.
Lastly, a bit of history, I found out yesterday that Loudoun County is named after Lord Loudoun-and guess where he is from?

Anyway my trip was fantastic! I met some fun and fascinating people. I must say the nightlife was a little better in London-but then again when I am home I barely stay awake past 10:00pm.
I will be back next week to answer your Loudoun County questions- I just need to catch up on my sleep.
