When my son was born in 2001, my husband and I decided that I would stay home and be a full time mom. It was fantastic! I spent most of my day with my son and I can say for the most part, we were always out scouting the area for mom friends and playdate mates. We would go to the park, the gym, the bookstore, the library. We were always good at finding cool moms and cool toddlers. When it came time to exchange information, we often had to look for a pen or scramble to find paper to write our information. One mom impressed me when she whipped out her mommy “business” card. It even had her daughter’s name on it for reference. How cool is that? Of course, you can’t be passing these cards out at the corner of your street and must be diligently careful where and whom you give them out to. But how cute! When you leave the workforce, you leave the business cards and formal introductions for a while, but why? We can still be in our top game, have our cards and scout for new playdates all at the same time. Here are some great ones I have found.
Moo Cards
Oh my god. My favorite by far. These mini card at Moo Cards are adorable. You can custom design them. My fave is adding your own photo on the back. I did that for business actually, and no one throws our cards away. The holders are adorable too. I have the red leather one. Cute, cute, cute.
Mommy CardsMommy Cards are a stylish, easy way to make play dates and create new friendships for you and your little ones.
Similar to business cards, Mommy Cards present your contact information to make introductions turn into actual play dates.
Chubby CardsOkay, we got the classy, the mini and now we give you the chubby cards. They are adorable. I used these for our community members and they were a big hit since you can write more things on these cards and the pictures really stand out. Zazzle, as a company, features some great designers. So with the price of standard business cards, you can get something very elegant, upscale and custom designed.
Mommy Biz
For the playful moms, Mommybiz cards are animated and very adorable. I never actually used them but love the cartoon look.
