Every year, people think about and make resolutions for the year ahead. Do you? I used to, until I got tired of failing, not following-thru, and ultimately letting myself down. What a bummer. I don’t take well to failure, not achieving my goals and feeling let-down. Who among us does?
So, I must ask: do you want to see yourself as a success or as a failure? It seems a rhetorical question, but let’s take a look at what it means to feel successful. First, examine your perspective. How do you feel about where you are? Did you set resolutions last year, and how long did you stick to them? Can you answer honestly that you stuck to everything you vowed to change? Do you feel overwhelmed and bogged-down? Many of us do, particularly these days when we have instant access to all information and we are always busy.

Just about everyone makes New Year’s Resolutions: lose weight, get in shape, get a new job, etc. However, most of us fall off the wagon by mid-February. What if, instead of choosing a resolution you might not keep, you committed to making your life easier? If you’re tired of feeling like a failure six weeks into every year, then you need to find a way to take back your life and get on with it.
“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.” ~ Jalal ad-Din
