Patricia Bardavid, R.N., owner and founder, is dedicated to satisfying her clients and has been for over 24 years. Initially offering just electrolysis, Patricia kept a watchful eye on the development of lasers. Only when they were perfected for use in hair removal did Laser Plus purchase a state-of-the-art laser for light skin tones and a few years later another two for skin of color.
Our first treatment began with a cleansing and the application of a cooling gel over the area to be treated to protect the skin. Goggles were provided to protect our eyes. As the cool-tip laser glided over our skin zapping up hair follicles, it felt a bit like a snap of a rubber band. (For those more sensitive to pain, a topical local anesthetic can be applied before the procedure to reduce discomfort. ) Afterwards, ice packs were placed on the treated areas for a few minutes. Patricia did not rush us out the door; she made sure we were properly cooled off and comfortable. Hydrocortisone cream was applied as a final step and we were sent home with detailed instructions on how to properly take care of the area. After several treatments, we have never experienced any discomfort, burning, or swelling of our skin.
