Is H1N1 in your Neighborhood?

Last week, President Obama declared a national state of emergency to help hospitals prepare for the H1N1(swine) flu pandemic. If that alone wasn’t enough to alert Americans that the flu is here, you only need to check out any of the social media sites, such as Facebook and Twitter, to see the chatter about people being out of work and school.  Just yesterday my son came home and announced that 500 people from his high school called in sick.  This is up from the 50 the day before.  There is also a lot of misinformation and rumors.  To keep things in perspective, the government has  created a website that provides local, state-specific information about H1N1 that is really helpful in keeping tabs on what’s happening.  Just click on your state in the map below to be connected to resources and alerts about H1N1.
