This transformation has already taken place in London and New York and it is finally hitting the Northern Virginia suburbs with Aditi Bistro. Located in an unassuming strip mall, Aditi Bistro is Pret-A-Manger meets Chipotle. It has the almost surgical look of Pret-A-Manger combined with traditional Indian delicacies served in wraps a la Chipotle style. Even the way you order your food reminded us of the simplicity of Metro Cafes in New York City. How you ask?
For example, on the menu you find curries. You can have curries six different ways from hot to creamy to Masala style with tomato cream sauce. Once you decide the sauce of your desire, you select your ingredients ranging from chicken, lamb, shrimp, mixed vegetables and of course paneer (cheese). From the curries menu I selected Chicken Vindaloo which is served with a tangy hot sauce with herbs and potatoes. My family ordered from the Bistro Grill Kabob menu,Chicken Tikka and Lemon & Herb Chicken.
First the Chicken Vindaloo, yes, it is indeed spicy. I tried to calm my tongue with saffron flavored rice and house tandoori naan (flat bread). I think it also tasted great and I recommend this tangy hot sauce curry to all hot food lovers. Chicken Tikka was boneless pieces of chicken legs flavored with spices and herbs. It was served with chutney flavored house salad, saffron rice and naan bread. The meat was so flavorful and tender that it was almost hard to tell it apart from morsels of lamb. My 7 year old son tried the Lemon and Herb Chicken marinated with, you guessed it, lemon, in addition to garlic, olive oil, seasoned with rosemary and turmeric. My son devoured the tender chicken pieces with lots of flat bread and yogurt dip. He even asked for seconds on the bread and the yogurt sauce.
Aditi reflects an ambience with the finest of modern Indian craftsmanship mixed with a casual, upscale yet contemporary bistro setting. If you are looking for fast yet delicious food in the Vienna area, you owe it to yourself to stop by Aditi.

This restaurant discriminates against vegetarians. Their lunch buffet is entirely geared towards meat eaters with two meat/non-veg dishes while the vegetarians are told that if they want a vegetarian protein they must buy it separately thereby paying twice for the same meal!! Despite bringing this to the notice of the manager, this practice is still continued. In fact when I tried to speak to manager to request a dish of vegetarian protein (paneer) be prepared for our table instead of the chicken dishes on the buffet which none of us would have touched, he told me that I should just eat the veggies and carbs or pay twice for my meal!! I will never step into this establishment again and will make it a point to mention this to everyone I know.
