It’s that time of the year again, when you, our wonderfully well-informed and savvy readers share with us your favorite businesses in the D.C. suburbs. Within one month, thousands and thousands of people came out and voted for the best businesses in the region. I shouldn’t have been as surprised as I was with the turn out. Last year we had projected that only a few hundred people would come out to vote, but you exceeded all expectations when thousands of you showed up. This year, we have nearly a quadruple increase in the number of you who took the time to vote. From all of us at I AM Modern Magazine, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you.

I started this magazine more than five years ago, for this very reason. I was new to the area then, and had no one I could depend on to give me honest advice on which doctor I could take my little ones to when they got sick. This is why this issue, while always a fun read, is such an important reference guide for our readers. Keep a copy with you, and when deciding which is the best camp for your kids, or who to visit for your health needs, you’ll always know what your fellow I AM Modern readers think.

While all of the businesses that won are to be congratulated, there is one business in particular, that merits a special mention. Radiance Salon and Medi-Spa in Ashburn and Landsdown, won a record 13 awards this year, winning in almost every category they were in. Radiance Salon’s record is proof that excellence and vision are the keys to a resoundingly successful business. Entrepreneurs, take note.
