Just because it is ugly outside, doesn't mean we have to take an accessory shortcut! Try a few of these tips to brighten your day as you walk out!
1) If you are stuck in a stud or hoop rut, (you know, THOSE earrings you put in EVERY morning), try a new pair of EARRINGS, something that can also be worn everyday, something that can be simple or sassy, worn day or night, with jeans or trousers!!!
-- scarves of every texture, color, length are in! Keep the chill away and show off the year's best trend! Please, don't leave the house without one, even when wearing your fleece!!3) Have you found a favorite boot, clog or dansco SOCK yet? The Soxtrot socks are the best! Equestrians discovered them, and now the rest of us love them! They STAY up, wash well, and your toosties are so cute going through airport security.
4) Decorate your HAIR!! Hats & hair accessories have never looked better! Just try one new hair bling -- sweet rhinestone bobby pins, flower clips, headbands or fedoras -- you may like it!! Please, just try ....... instead of the baseball hat??
5) Do you own any WINTER WHITE? Sweaters, fleece vests, cowls? As appealing as black & grey are, since that they match our mood when getting dressed in the morning, nothing brightens my spirits like wearing my winter white faux fur vest!! I even think it makes other people smile!!
6) Last week I mentioned loosing the tired & ratty dish towels .... well, I feel the same about the LINGERIE DRAWER!! You know exactly the pieces I mean!! With Valentine's Day sales starting ... out with the old, and in with the new! Get 10 new pairs ....wash less!
7) If I need a quick pick-me-up, I head to the LIPSTICK aisle (not exactly an accessory, but I am just as passionate about!!) Love the sheer pinks, the creamy nudes all the way to the mochas and merlots!! Perfect time to make the lips look great --- it is the only thing showing through the coats, hats scarves!
8) PURSES are on sale NOW!! Get a cute evening clutch, a new tote, or the purse you were eyeing over the holidays!! Purses have so much personality (purse-sonality??) -- fringes & flowers, studs & zippers ! It's ok to say no to the same old logo ......
9) Do you have your STATEMENT NECKLACE yet? And yes, you do have a place to wear it!! Whether it is a long, gold tassel or a fabric bib with rhinestones .... wear it with jeans, wear it to church, wear it to book club, just WEAR IT!!
10) Tired of your accessories?? Try a consignment shop or even a g-f swap!! 5 friends bring 5 accessories, and swap away! You can have new sunglasses, new mittens, new bangles and no credit card bill!!
