Lose Weight W/ Val
Written by Val Cavalheri

Digg!

I had a lot of running around to do yesterday and a couple of photo shoots (I’m a photographer). My early afternoon shoot ended up going later than expected and I was absolutely ravenous by around 2:00 PM. On my way home, I stopped to pick up something at a Baja Fresh. Typically, I would have ordered a Vegetarian Bare Burrito (no rice), but I was starving (always a bad thing) and decided to order a Vegetarian Burrito instead.

I got home and took a bite. Delicious. How fattening could it be? I thought. Just for the heck of it I Googled Vegetarian Burrito Baja Fresh Calorie.

Over 850 calories. YIKES.

I cut the thing in half, figuring I would eat half of it for dinner. EXCEPT that throughout the afternoon I kept going back to the refrigerator and taking teeny little bites.

The last time I went, my Golden Retriever, Teddy, followed and looked up longingly at my burrito as I unwrapped it. I found myself also looking lovingly at my burrito. We both stared at the burrito for a very long time. That’s troubling, I though and gave the burrito to the dog.

OK, I’m not proud of the next sentence.

Part of me wanted to throw myself on Teddy and wrestle it away from him. (Like I said, it was an exceptionally delicious burrito). I didn’t and we both ended up happier for it.
==========================

Here is an interesting thing I also found out when I searched: The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI—the food police) found that a Vegetarian Burrito (with black beans, rice, cheese, guacamole, and salsa) weighs over a pound and provides 1,120 calories and three-quarters of a day's worth of saturated fat (14 grams)!

Doesn’t it make you question why restaurants give us so much food? Is it because we expect it? AND is it any wonder that we struggle with our weight?

==========================
After my loss of control this weekend, I realize that I have to take it one day at a time, one meal, one snack at a time. What I needed to do—today--was to ask my own food police—Rick—to monitor my eating again. I know from experience that when I have to email/Blackberry him what I ate, I am infinitely more careful. Besides, he pulls no punches—“that’s enough for the evening,” he’ll email me back. So, I’m back with Rick and here is my recommendation to you—if you don’t have one yet, go and find a Rick of your own.

Accountably,
Val

Is the Endermologie Lipomassage helping you lose weight?
written by lisa bauer, February 27, 2008
Val,
It's Lisa at Total Body Design in Reston. Hey there! I'm wondering what you think about the Endermologie Lipimassage that you've been receiving - do you think it's helping at all to enhance your efforts?
Are you receiving treatments twice weekly? Hopefull the answer is yes smilies/smiley.gif
Considering the Endermologie Lipomassage significantly increases blood circulation, metabolism and lymphatic drainage it should definately be helping to push you through the weight loss threshhold.
Stick with it, because the process is natural, and non invasive, it can take a little longer than some of the other more invasive treatments for cellulite, and body shaping.
Good luck and for anybody else trying to follow Val's progress, please feel free to come in and get a complimentary Endermologie Lipomassage treatment. I'll tell you how/why it works and yI can gaurentee you'll see some great results.
