Getting fit, going green and enjoying summer
It is time to get the winter jiggles out of our tighs and get ready for summer.
Dear ModMoms,
During the summer, I find myself motivated and inspired by the smallest little critter, my son Selim. I watch him in amazement and wonder how he can conjure up so much energy with such little food and effort. I watch as he leaps, lands, runs, hides, leaps again, tumbles and he does it all with his skinny little body. He can push up, pull up, squat, hold plank and do a 100 sit ups, if someone dared him. Covered in sweat, he keeps going and going until he falls asleep at dinner. You see, he isn’t watching the clock to see if his 60-minutes of cardio is up. He isn’t worried about looking fat in his shorts. He isn’t worried if he is in the correct form. All he wants is to have fun. In fact, don’t we wish we all had fun doing cardio? In this issue, we found those moms who love to workout and tried to capture what motivates them. In addition, we had local moms and workout gurus go out and try the fitness studios, and gyms, so you can have a local guide prepared for you. We did the work and
you can have the fun. It is time to get the winter jiggle out of our thighs and the bulge of winter comfort food out of our waistline. Enjoy this summer with fun activities and go dancing at the Loudoun Summer Music Fest, where you can find us in our tent as Silver Sponsors and full time dancers.
