Dream Dinners, simplifies cooking so you can do it in your sleep.
Marjorie Thompson and her lovely daughter Shannon go out of their way to make you feel at home in their meal preparation kitchen. Dream Dinners may be new to Northern Virginia area, but they are widely recognized as “the originator of innovative and convenient dinner assembly stores.” Located in a brand new business center off Route 7, at the time of this review, Dream Dinners had been open for only 4 weeks. We walked into a 9 a.m. Saturday morning session.
This location can hold up to 15 people cooking all at the same time and we counted 10 people during our session. Interior is decorated with soothing pastel colors, comfortable leather chairs, and French country kitchen decorations. Marjorie takes personalization to the next level with the use of custom name tags hanging from drawers packed with your apron, menu selections, food labels and a mint chocolate. We selected 4 meals, Coconut Shrimp, Madras Chicken Curry designed in the kitchens of Redbook magazine, Chicken Paella and Flank Steak. Marjorie, Shannon and a staff of friendly ladies helped everyone prepare, pack, and label their meals. In the middle of the session, samplings of October’s menu items were brought out and we enjoyed them with homemade lemonade. We also stopped to sing a “Happy Birthday” song to a 12 year old young boy who was in there cooking with his mother. We noticed that the entire staff, including Marjorie, carries customers prepared meals to their car, which is a big help. We met numerous repeat customers who spoke very highly of the quality and taste of the meals. We agree after cooking our meals. Our favorites were Redbook’s Madras Chicken Curry and Chicken Paella.
