QUESTION:
My friend swears by this one diet pill that is all natural. the key ingredients are :
Bitter Orange Fruit: In traditional Chinese medicine bitter orange has been marketed to help relieve upset stomach, suppress the appetite, and assist with mild insomnia. Bitter orange fruit and peel are also commonly marketed as a weight loss aid. Topically, bitter orange peel is used for inflammation of the eyelid, skin bruising, and muscle pain. Cassia Seed: Cassia seeds are sweet, bitter and salty in flavor, slightly cold in nature, and are associated with the Liver, Kidney and Large Intestine meridians. Its main functions are to remove heat and relax the bowels. Traditionally, it is used to treat blurred vision and eyes that are bloodshot. Some practitioners employ cassia seed as a laxative to treat constipation. There is also evidence that it helps to reduce blood pressure. Mulberry Leaf: It is used in Chinese medicine for maintaining normal blood sugar and blood fat level, urine sugar level and facilitate easy bowel movement. Studies indicate possible beneficial effects on immune function and maintain body''s well being Jobstears Seed: It is attributive to spleen, stomach, and lung and large intestine channels. The extract from Jobstears Seed''s function is to decompose body fat, eject heat and help the bowels remove properly. Medical Amylum: Medical Amylum (starch) promotes satiety and control the body’s fat intake by blocking the non-fat material converting into fat. It seems harmless. What do you think? should I take it? |

The goal is to eat every 4 to 5 hours during the day. That would include 3 meals and 2-4 snacks. For each meal, incorporate: • 1 fist-size portion high fiber carbohydrates (i.e. whole wheat pasta, rice, potato, whole grain breads and cereals) • 1 palm size portion lean protein (i.e.: lean meat, skinless poultry, egg whites, fish, seafood, low fat dairy products and legumes) • At least 3 fist-sized portions vegetables and/or fruits Anytime throughout the day, incorporate: • A maximum of 2 thumb-size fats from unsaturated, non-trans sources (such as non-trans soft margarines, canola oil, olive oil, and fatty fishes like salmon and mackerel) • 2-4 (100 calorie) snacks (such as low fat cheese and crackers… half a low-fat turkey sandwich, chicken or turkey vegetable soup, a cup of low fat milk or yogurt). |

Q: I am 5'2", about 130 lbs and I have belly flab. I do not need to loose weight but I want to lose the fat in my mid-section. What types of foods/vitamins will help burn fat? A: Dear Emily... The only thing that will burn fat and produce muscle definition is exercise. So hop on your favorite piece of cardio equipment for 30-60minutes daily to lose that tummy. Unfortunately, genetics is probably going to play a role in how defined you can get so if you look at your closest relatives and they are six pack-less, don’t be surprised if it takes hard work to get some semblance of abs! Q: Jennifer, thank you for the great info, I have been reading your articles. I had a question about detoxing, colonics and dieting. I read in many journals that detox dieting is a great way to heal the body and to sort of reset it. I have been experiencing some health issues and I would like to do a detox fast. I also would ilike to do a colonic, I heard they work very well together. I read that you should do 3 day only water fast, then a period of eating one type of fruit at each meal, and then some other mixing. I am not sure which program to follow. Do I juice or just drink lemonade? Or water alone? That sounds so extreme with water alone. Colonics, do they work? Is it good for you? Thanks, Sandra |

What do you think about B6/B12 injection? What is the difference between injections and pills? Dear Sofie, B vitamins are water soluble and you will inevitably pee out what your body does not need in a given day. That being said, Vitamin B12 is found in animal products so strict vegetarians/vegans are at risk for deficiency. B12 deficiency is treated with a course of vitamin injections to ensure adequate absorption and use of the vitamin. A form of vitamin B12 known as hydroxocobalamin is injected into a muscle once every two to four days. Around six injections are given, which is enough to build up a store of vitamin B12 in the body. Hope this helps! |
