Cost Effective Holiday Dinners

martiniI'm hosting the holiday party this year. What are some ways to create a delicious and cost effective holiday dinner menu? – Elizabeth
Hi Elizabeth,

Hosting holiday parties are so exciting and fun, however, they can also become quite stressful during the preparation.  Here are a few tips to keep it simple and fabulous at the same time.

1 – Host a Tasting Party – Take all of your favorite foods and make them bite size portions. Serve portions in martini glasses, shot glasses or mini bowls.

2 – Honor a Tradition – Holidays are all about honoring traditions and creating new traditions.  If there is a special family recipe, give it special attention by incorporating it into your meal.

3 – Serve Signature Drinks – Instead of stocking a full bar, serve a couple of signature holiday drinks.  Pomegranate Martinis and/or Cran-Raspberry Sangria are great choices.

4 – Jazz it Up – Add punches of color to your dining table and room by visiting your local crafts store.  Stock up on a few inexpensive items to jazz up your decorations.  Holiday scrapbook paper lined together creates a fabulous table runner or placemats, ornaments are perfect to hold placecards, clear vases filled with extra ornaments are the perfect centerpieces!

February 2012 Thank you for producing such a fun, current magazine full of great information. Wishing you continued (and BIG) success. Pamela Steuart.Fine Art
