School Hosts 4th Annual “Love of Literacy” Campaign

beantree1Leesburg, VA – Apr 28 – Nearly 700 BeanTree Learning parents and children gathered for the 7th Annual BeanTree Learning Family Picnic at Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg. The annual picnic provides food and fun for the families from both BeanTree Learning campuses in Ashburn and Westfields/Chantilly. More importantly, the exciting event makes a lasting difference in the lives of children throughout Loudoun County as families donated hundreds of children’s books as part of their 4th Annual “Love of Literacy” Campaign to benefit both the Loudoun Literacy Council and the Literacy Council of Northern Virginia.

Eighth Annual Museum Day Live!

sep29On Saturday, September 29, 2012Smithsonian Magazine will host a celebration of culture, science, history and education, marking the Eighth Annual Museum Day Live! across the United States.

Over 1,400 museums and cultural institutions nationwide are expected to participate, emulating the free admission policy of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. by opening their doors free of charge to anyone who downloads a Museum Day Live! ticket at www.smithsonianmag.com/museumday.

Museums with a wide range of diverse exhibitions in all 50 states will be participating in Museum Day Live!  Over 350,000 people participated in Museum Day in 2011.

Please join for the 1st annual Carter's Run for Dandy-Walker on May 19th. Carter Zimmerman is a 4-year-old resident of Ashburn, VA who has Dandy-Walker, a congenitive brain abnormality. Join his family and friends as they raise awareness of this little-known syndrome and donate all proceeds from the event to the non-profit Dandy-Walker Alliance, based in Kensington, MD, to fund a cure! In addition to the run/walk, there will be a performance by The Great Zucchini as well as lots of fun stuff for the whole family - face painting, glitter tattoos, balloon art, moonbounces, an appearance by the Chick-Fil-A cow, a raffle and much more.
