I AM Modern Magazine for Moms

I recently saw a segment on The Today Show that really grabbed my attention. They were talking about the latest trend in home parties, called Gold Parties.

Since many of us have acquired a fair amount of jewelry over the years, much of which never gets worn, or maybe it's from an ex and it's never going to be worn (!), it would be fun to turn that unwanted gold into cold hard cash. Especially now that gold prices have exceeded $1000 an ounce!

I did a little research into the company that seems to be the leader of this trend. Their website link is www.mygoldparty.com. It's quite an interesting idea. If you chose to get into the gold purchasing business, you purchase a kit that explains what you need to know and includes a scale and a loop. You purchase the gold on the spot, and then send it to one of the refineries that melts it down for re-use.

I'd be interested in knowing if there are any women in our community currently doing these parties, as I'd be first in line with a bag full of gold chains and bangles!! Let's hear from you!!
