7 Ways to Dress Up the Little Black Dress

lbdHave you planned your New Year’s Eve outfit yet? If you’re thinking about going the LBD route, there are ways to make sure you don’t look like every other woman at the party. With the right accessories you can make that LBD sparkle, shimmer and shine.

  1. Pick a LBD that’s classic in style and has clean lines and a lightweight fabric. And the fit is it so make sure it’s showing off your bod to its best.
  2. Choose accessories that add pizzazz. Pick jewelry that pops – like gold chandelier earrings and an armful of bangles. Add a chunky cocktail ring and you’re golden.
  3. Set your LBD apart with a shimmery belt that ties in with your jewelry. It will make your dress look stylish and hip – and will help accent your assets too.
  4. Go vibrant with the shoes. Think stilettos or sling backs for an air of sophistication. Don’t go too “matchy-matchy” with the belt and the shoes – just make them complement one another.
  5. Choose a handbag that accents the accessories. All you’ll need for the night are a few essentials like lipstick and a comb – so leave the chunky purse at home and pick a clutch. In this case, less is more.
  6. Cover up with a faux fur wrap or beautiful trench coat. It should just be enough to keep your LBD under wrap and make the unveiling that much sweeter.
  7. Make sure your makeup and hair really pops. Since tonight is the night where you really want to stand out, definitely go the smoky eye, sexy lips and a loose curl look.
Tonight the Little Black Dress is your canvas and you’re the artist – so get creative and have fun!
